A group of students St. Cloud Technical High School first attended We Day in Winnipeg in 2012. They started earning their way to We Day in 2011 after meeting co-founder Craig Kielburger at the 2011 Civic Engagement Leadership Conference.
We have been talking about Minnesota’s first We Day for months, and now it is just two weeks away. Students across the state have spent the past year doing service projects to earn a ticket to We Day, which is a day-long event featuring popular musical acts and inspirational speakers. A student run group there is earning their way to We Day by serving people in Haiti, and in their own school. We Day is a star-studded one day event coming to Minnesota Oct. 8. About 18,000 Minnesota students will pack the Xcel Center in St. Paul to celebrate service to others.
Often bullying stems from a lack of understanding of others. Whether it’s sexuality, race or even economic status, some find it easier to pick on others’ differences. Students at Wellstone International High School say bullying is almost a daily occurrence there.

Students at Minnetonka High School are earning their way to the star-studded We Day Minnesota event coming up this October, and they’re doing it one sandwich at a time.
The Minnesota Vikings announced Wednesday that they are teaming up with the nonprofit group, “Free The Children,” to support We Day.
