Man Accused Of Smothering Girlfriend’s 3-Month-Old

A White Bear Lake man is accused of smothering his girlfriend’s 3-month-old daughter.

According to the criminal complaint, Bryan Gustafson, 27, was frustrated by the baby’s crying since he was trying to watch the Meryl Streep movie “It’s Complicated.”

The captain of the shipwrecked Costa Concordia cruise ship will be spending 16 years in an Italian prison. Francesco Schettino was convicted of manslaughter in the deaths of 32 passengers and crew members. The ship ran aground near Italy in January 2012.

Darla Jean Tyler, 51, was charged with four counts of check forgery.

Sheriff: 2 In Custody After Chase Ends With Van Crashing Into Garage

A police chase involving a stolen van ended Monday morning with the van crashing into a garage in White Bear Lake and two people being taken into custody, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities said the incident started at about just before 2 a.m. as officers in Washington County got into a pursuit with the van on County Road E in Mahtomedi.
