Turns out, Dorothy, from ‘The Wizard of Oz?’ Nothing but a trouble-making farm girl that ruined everything. That’s right. We were lead to believe she was nothing more than an innocent, naive lost child from Kansas, just trying to find her way home somewhere over the rainbow. But we know better now.
The beloved Broadway musical Wicked returns this week to Minnesota, opening 9/18 and in town through 10/27 at Minneapolis’ gorgeous Orpheum Theatre. It’s a big show with lots of moving pieces and parts, and behind the scenes, it’s quite an event getting it all unloaded and put together.
One of the most popular and beloved musicals is coming back to Minneapolis. Wicked begins a six-week tour on Wednesday at the Orpheum Theatre, following three highly successful runs in the Twin Cities since 2006.

OK, I confess. I have a small girl crush on Idina Menzel.
It’s not often that one can label something from start to finish with the untouchable “p-word.” But in the case of the Orpheum Theatre’s presentation of the highly noted tour of “Wicked,” it’s the only word that seems to fit.
It’s a little bit sad but I have nearly every song from the Broadway smash, “Wicked,” on my iPod — completely memorized. And yet, I’ve never seen the show.
