A 66-year-old Winona man died Sunday night after a tree fell on his car while he was driving during storms in southeastern Minnesota, according to the Winona County Sheriff’s Office.
Winona County authorities have identified a boater who went missing on the Mississippi River in southeastern Minnesota. Authorities on Monday resumed searching for 27-year-old Joshua Xiong of Onalaska, Wisconsin.
An 80-year-old man is recovering after spending hours trapped in a grain bin near Lewiston, Minn. On Thursday at 11 a.m., the Winona County Sheriff’s office was alerted to the incident at a farm along County Road 25.

Authorities said Monday that criminal charges won’t be filed in a Jan. 5 crash in Winona that killed four people, including the driver. The Winona County Sheriff’s Office said the driver, Christina Hauser, had a blood alcohol level of .168 at the time of the crash and was speeding. The sheriff’s office said that because Hauser died, she couldn’t face criminal charges in the case.
