Good Question: Reply All: State Fair History

There’s so much history to the Great Minnesota Get-Together that we thought we’d let the fairgoers ask their Good Questions. Stacey Foust wanted to know: How old is the Grandstand? Built in 1909, the Grandstand is now 104 years old. According the Minnesota State Fair archivist, the original two-decked wooden Grandstand, built in 1885, was razed after the 1908 State Fair.

Teen Dies After Suffering Head Injury At Wis. State Fair

A Mount Horeb teen has died after suffering a head injury at the Wisconsin State Fair. A report from the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner says 19-year-old John Klossner fell from the back of a pickup truck at the fair on Aug. 3.

Troubled ‘Stratosphere’ Is Reopened At The Fair

A highly-anticipated State Fair ride is back up and running Saturday night after malfunctioning twice. The Stratosphere is a one-of-its-kind swing ride that’s new on the Mighty Midway. On Thursday and again on Friday, the ride got stuck and stranded some people in the air.
