Ye Old Mill is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
The Minnesota State Fair opens Thursday for its annual 12-day run through Labor Day, Sept. 7. While its roots go back to 1855, this will be the fair’s 130th anniversary on its current site in Falcon Heights. The fair’s oldest attraction, the Ye Old Mill water ride, turns 100 this year. The end of the State Fair marks the start of a big celebration for one of its most popular attractions. The Ye Old Mill was built in 1913, but rides didn’t start until 1915. That makes next year its centennial celebration.
Friday was our last 4 p.m. show at the Great Minnesota Get-Together, and we brought in Dorset’s world-famous 4-year-old mayor to the ‘CCO booth.
