Best Baseball Fields In Minnesota

The weather in Minnesota is finally warming up, and the blues of winter are fading fast behind. With the fairer weather on the rise, the people of Minnesota may be feeling the urge to get outside and feel the fresh air once again. Along with the start of warm weather, the spring also brings another year of America's favorite pastime: baseball. Baseball is a great reliever of spring fever, offering the opportunity to enjoy the sunshine and green grass, whether you are playing the game or simply watching from the sidelines. Baseball season is getting started, so check out these top baseball fields throughout Minnesota to put your spring fever to rest.

Cavell Park has a baseball and a softball field for year round use. The baseball field hosts adult and junior sports league activities. It is also open for recreational use. The baseball and softball fields originated from a 1977 park redevelopment. Along with the playing fields, take the time to enjoy other park amenities such as the picnic area and playground/tot lot.

A few blocks away from Cavell Park, Waite Park is connected to the Waite Community School. Like Cavell Park, Waite Park's baseball field holds adult and junior sports league events. The baseball mound, spacious and well maintained, is popular for recreational games. Improvements to Waite Park are ongoing. Last year, the park installed a wading pool. Other amenities include a playground, football field, horseshoe pit and sand volleyball court.

Arlington Arkwright Athletic Fields

The baseball field at Arlington Arkwright Athletic Fields hosts high school baseball games and amateur and minor league baseball. The stadium-style field is open to the public. The outside surface is grass, with a picturesque in-grass playing area. Facility rentals can be made through the local municipal athletics office. The area also offers a dog park, which is a popular site to visit with your four-legged friend.

McMurray Athletic Fields

The McMurray Athletic Fields with artificial turf are home to youth baseball and adult softball leagues. They are also used for other types of sports. The athletic area has one baseball field and six fields for softball. Adjacent to the baseball field is a sports practice area. Facilities can be rented through the local municipal athletics office. The athletic fields are not far from the popular Como Park.

Dred Scott Playfield has two baseball diamonds in the park. These consist of two playing fields: Tony Olivia and Ken Swartz. Both of these spacious fields are fenced in, and bleachers are outside the playing areas for spectators. For softball lovers, the recreational park has nine softball diamonds.

Slightly larger than the Dred Scott Playfield, the seating capacity is 250 at the Gene Kelly Youth Playfield. The ballpark has one baseball diamond and three softball diamonds. The playing field has a grass surface and on-grass game areas. Full of nice amenities, the playfield is part of a 27.5-acre city park.
