Best Uptown Places To Go For Happy Hour

So, with the help of residents and employees in Uptown, I put together a list of places that have some sweet happy hour specials.

Uptown is a big place with many different places to go for great happy hour specials. Just let me know if you don't see something you expected on here and give some kudos to the place you enjoy.

No. 1: Barbette

Happy hours: Monday through Friday - 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Sunday through Thursday - 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Offering a nice patio when weather permits, Barbette's happy hour consists of $3 Pabst Blue Ribbon (PBR), $4 house wine and bubbly, $4 domestic taps and $5 appetizers.

No. 2: Bryant-Lake Bowl

Happy hours: Monday through Friday  3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Monday through Thursday - 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

This is a pretty sweet place. Why? Because of the combination of happy hour and bowling, that's why. Bryant-Lake offers $2 bowling during it's late night happy hour. Also, look for $4 select taps, house wines, rail cocktails, $3 domestic taps and $4.25 appetizers. There is one last thing: If you ride your bike to Bryant-Lake and wear a helmet, you can get up to two $2 tall boy PBRs.

No. 3: Sushi Tango

Happy hours: Monday through Wednesday - 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. to midnight
Thursday through Sunday - noon to 6 p.m.

Sushi Tango offers a wide array of drink specials, but here is the bottom line: look for $3.50 house chardonnay, house chiraz and small hot sake, tap beers (16 oz.). Also, grab a rail drink for $3 and look for its $4 Bloody Mary.

No. 4: Chino Latino

Happy hours: Daily - 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Thursday through Sunday - 10:30 p.m. to 12 a.m.

During the earlier happy hour, Chino Latino offers $3.50 well drinks, tap beers and house wines. Also, look for cheap tuna rolls, nachos and wings. During the late night happy hour, $3.50 tap beers and house wines are offered as well as cheap pizza, enchiladas, sushi and more.

No. 5: Moto-i

Happy hours: Daily - 2:20 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday through Thursday - 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Moto-i's atmosphere is great and offers a sweet rooftop! Check out $3.50 tap beer, house wine and half-price sake. Also, look for cheap appetizers from $3 to $5.

No. 6: Amore Victoria

Happy hours: Monday through Friday - 2:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Saturday - 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Sunday - All day

Amore Victoria is a great Italian place near the nice Uptown neighborhoods. On the liquid side, Amore offers $3 house wine and tap beer, $5 well martinis and $7 house martinis. For cheap food, look for $5 bruschetta, caprese, deep fried calamari, artichoke spinach dip and one-topping pizza.

No. 7: Stella's Fish Cafe

Happy hours: Monday through Thursday - 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday through Thursday - 10 p.m. to midnight

Stella's is one of Uptown's rooftop hot spots. There are differences in the happy hour specials for the rooftop and the main floor, but both offer $5 appetizers (sliders, buffalo wings and other class food) and $1 oysters on the half shell. For the rooftop, you can get $3 taps and Finnish Line bottles, $5 drink of the day and $10 bucket of Coronitas and Mini-Heinekens. On the main floor, enjoy "2 for 1" bar beverages, $3.99 half-pound peel-and-eat shrimp and $5 crab scraps.

No. 8: Bar Abilene

Happy hours: Monday through Saturday - 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. (Sunday - 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.)
Monday through Thursday and Sunday - 10 p.m. to midnight
