Spring is a great time to rejuvenate your home and your life. Spring is the time for spring cleaning, spring sales, planning gardens and outdoor walks. Spring is a great time to get out to these five great Minnesota spring arts events.

It is never too early to prepare for Valentine's Day. Start by shopping this successful event now in its second year. Oodles of handcrafted rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces made of gold, silver, copper and semi-precious stone will be on display. Your special friend might also enjoy a gift of the many unique accessories, purses and scarves. The fun is in visiting with the local artists ready to tell you all about their crafts. While the jewelry show is free, there is a delightful Afternoon Tea to help support the Hopkins Center for the Arts. Chef Phil Velo, who you may know from the Depot Coffee House, will serve gourmet teas, sandwiches, pastries and cakes. Please call or stop by the Hopkins Center for the Arts HCA to purchase these $25 tickets in advance for the 1 p.m. tea.

Spring Art Crawl 2015

Where else in Minnesota do all of the artists in a major city open their studios to display their works all in one noteworthy weekend? Art Crawlers can choose from 25 buildings housing workshops and galleries of 400 superb Saint Paul artists. Smart shoppers like to park at Union Depot to crawl the Lowertown, where many studios are in close proximity. Many shoppers like to explore the Schmidt Artist Lofts on West 7th Street where 55 artists display their handsome works. More studios can be found along Grand Avenue and University Avenue. Check the website for more details on building locations, special events and live music. This spring marks the 24st year of this biennial event.

Crafters from all over the U.S. descend upon Canterbury Park to demonstrate their skilled artistry and their masterful handicrafts. The big tent has new and different wares of enticing food and Canterbury Park's facility has more exhibitors and stage entertainment. Admission buys stage shows and hourly gift certificate drawings. This festive atmosphere may be the reason why readers of Sunshine Artist Magazine voted this event as among one of the top 100.

Celebrate spring on the banks of the St. Croix River near historic downtown Stillwater while viewing the works of more than 100 of the best local and regional artists. The 38th annual Rivertown Art Festival offers the best of fine art, paintings, drawings, paper, wood, ceramics, glass, fiber and photography. The Art Festival has a fun side as well, at the marketplace bursting with "a variety of handmade items and foods like wine, jelly, homemade tortilla chips, spices, salsas, candles and body lotions, just to name a few," says Greater Stillwater Chamber Event Manager Dolly Parker.
