A steakhouse is a classic piece of American dining. Whether you’re Frank Sinatra or Joe the Plumber, kids on prom night or on a first date, out for a business meeting or your anniversary dinner, it is the quintessential restaurant for a satisfying meal. We know our meat in Minnesota, and thus have some of the best steakhouses for any occasion. For a filet, ribeye, prime rib, sirloin or strip, these are the biggest and boldest steakhouses at which to make a reservation.

The Strip Club Meat & Fish
378 Maria Ave.
Saint Paul, MN 55106
(651) 793-6247
www.domeats.com

“Vegetarians are regarded with benevolent amusement” is the disclaimer at the bottom of the menu, and it’s true that meat is the focus here. Meat is king, and you’ll know with each bite the level of care that went into the preparation of your steak. The tongue-in-cheek name refers, of course, to the glorious strip that always sits proudly on the menu, but you can’t go wrong with any of the cuts. Or, if you’re feeling a little more playful, try some of the small plates and build an entrée. The “Meat to Please You” changes daily and gives a smaller taste of the restaurant’s butcher-based spirit. Pair your meal with some of the best cocktails in town and enjoy one of the best steak experiences you’ll ever have.

Doing new things with a classic concept, Burch does familiar and new cuts side-by-side and you’ll never have to worry about finding the perfect steak to suit your style. This is the kind of place you want to go for a celebration, for a birthday or anniversary or promotion. The ambiance, service and food all scream “night in the big city,” and you won’t be disappointed. If you are dining with a group, try the pizza bar as well. Not everyone has to be into steak to enjoy this Uptown restaurant.

Joan’s In The Park
631 Snelling Ave. S.
Saint Paul, MN 55116
(651) 690-3297

Don’t let this tiny restaurant in St. Paul’s Highland Park neighborhood fool you; it is doing big things with some amazing cuts of meat. There are other memorable items on the small menu, but if you’re looking for a man-sized cut of amazing steak, you have to order the rib eye. While many of the items on the menu can change abruptly based on “availability of ingredients, season, and inspiration,” you’re likely to find everything from steak tartare to sweetbreads on the starter menu, creative salads that both herbivores and meat-eaters can appreciate, a selection a impressive entrees and delectable desserts. But really, it’s all about the steak.
