Best Veteran's Day Drink Specials In Minnesota

On the 11th day of the 11th month each year, veterans across the United States are honored for their service to the country. Unlike Memorial Day, which honors those who fell in the line of duty, Veterans Day celebrates those who served in the military during both wartime and peacetime. These are people we can look in the eye and say, "thank you." With numerous events throughout Minnesota to commemorate the day, sometimes the best thing to do is sit back, catch up with some buddies or spend time with families over a drink or great meal. Some of our local watering holes take it even further, offering discounted drinks and more on this special day. Here are some of the places for veterans to visit for the upcoming holiday.

Eat and drink and be merry at the Glockenspiel, where veterans will get a 15 percent discount on any tab $25 and over. Enjoy a hot plate of German food to get ready for at least one stein of beer filled the brim, or perhaps a shot of one of their specialty liqueurs to honor our nation's veterans. For Veterans Day, it's a great place to round up the old crew and get together to talk about the days spent in service.

Celebrating Armistice Day, the official name given to the day by Woodrow Wilson at the close of World War I, Brit's Pub doesn't let the day pass by quietly: often accompanied by live music performances and bagpipes, as well as readings from veterans, this event is equal parts celebration (don't forget to order a beer) and salute to the men and women who have served all across the world, and the allies from different countries that fought side by side.
