How To Make Bathrooms Work For Multiple People In Minnesota

No matter how big your house is, the bathroom always seems to be the one place where there is never enough space. Minnesota homes, especially older Minnesota homes, are not exactly known for their numerous bathrooms. It seems to be that even four and five bedroom homes have only one or two bathrooms, causing a lot of people to get used to a very small shared space. There are ways, however, to make your bathroom seem more spacious, no matter how crowded it can get.

1) Organize. First, take some time to organize what is currently in the bathroom. Do you have extra bottles of half-used shampoo, conditioner or body wash lying around? Spend some time to first empty out all of the supplies that can be thrown out of the bathroom so that you can really see what needs to be kept. Now you can decide how to best organize the bathroom itself. For some people, separate drawers and counters for each person work best, though this might depend on the number of people that need to use the bathroom on a daily basis. In the shower, consider a shelving unit with at least four to five shelves. Each person that uses the shower can have their own shelf with their own products.

2) Buy a vanity. If the most pertinent issue in your household is the sheer volume of people using the same bathroom, consider purchasing a vanity that can be used in another room of the house (i.e. a bedroom). That way, once someone gets out of the shower, they can finish getting ready in their own room, freeing up the bathroom for the next person.

3) Hire a professional. If you really feel you need some expert advice on how to best divy up your bathroom space, consider hiring a professional. There are many accessible outlets to find customized renovation solutions for every bathroom. Some solutions include altering the layout of a bathroom, giving the allure of more space and providing additional storage space without sacrificing the style.
