Most Affordable Golf Courses In Minnesota

Summer months mean plenty of time on the golf links. Minnesota has hundreds of beautiful golf courses for everyone from beginning golfers to highly experienced veterans. Listed below are some of the most affordable courses in the Twin Cities area. You don’t want to miss out on this fun, so get out there and hit some balls.

Birnamwood Golf Course

Located and operated by the city of Burnsville, Birnamwood Golf Course offers weekday play starting at $12.75 for nine holes. Weekend and holiday rates begin at $13.50. The second nine holes are available to players at a 50-percent discount. Discounted rates are available for seniors and active military personnel. Discounts also are available for games played before 7 a.m. and games played in October. Carts are available for $5.

Maintained by the Three Rivers Park District, the Eagle Lake Youth Golf Center is a great option for beginning and young golfers. The municipal course is located in Plymouth on two old farmsteads, according to the website for the course. Nine-hole rates for the par-31 Eagle course begin at $14. Youth rates are available. Rates for the par-27, pitch-and-putt Birdie course begin at $8. The course clubhouse is located in the park’s visitor center, which is where visitors can find all necessary rental equipment.

At Arbor Pointe Golf Club, children under 17 golf for free after 3 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with a paid adult. Nine holes for adults begin at $15, and discounted rates are available for seniors. Carts are $7. The course, which was built in 1998, is located in Inver Grove Heights. Classified as a par 31, this course is touted as “Minnesota’s most challenging executive golf course,” according to the course’s website. Golfers of all skill levels are welcome.

Begin Oaks Golf Course

Begin Oaks is a par-34 course located in Plymouth. Rates for the nine-hole course begin at $16.50 and increase after 11 a.m. most days. The course, which opened in 2000, is about 3,000 yards long, and carts are available for $8.50. Senior rates are available. Reservations can be made online on the tee times webpage. According to the course’s website, the landscape at the at Begin Oaks “is like being up north without the drive.”

Brooklyn Golf Park is a 20-acre, par-30 course located in Brooklyn Park. The rate for the nine-hole municipal park is $13. Additional rounds are $5 each. Ten-round passes begin at about $11. Senior and junior rates are available, and rental clubs are available for free. Carts cost $15. The golf park offers a “Super Family Rate” which allows families to play after 6:30 p.m. all summer for just $20 for the entire family. The park is ideal for beginning golfers, though golfers of all skill levels are welcome. This park is one of the most economical in the area.
