'Ugly' Produce Movement Comes To Twin Cities Hy-Vee; Audio ExcerptHy-Vee stores in the Twin Cities area have joined the "ugly produce" campaign as a way to reportedly reduce food waste and lower prices for consumers. According to Hy-Vee, the “Misfits” are slightly irregular, misshaped, or discolored produce items that are still fine to eat, but would have otherwise been thrown out.
