nurse at work Pessimism in Nurse Talks

No progress was reported in Wednesday’s talks between 12,000  nurses and 14 Twin Cities hospitals. The nurses union has threatened to walk off the job for one day on June 10th. Key issues are pensions and staffing levels. Another round of talks is set for Friday. Meanwhile, more than 2,000 nurses from other states have applied for Minnesota licenses so they can work as replacements during a strike.

  1. Pat says:

At 1-888-389-7668 they’re advertising for nurses to come to Minnesota at $2,224.00 for one day plus 8 hours orientation, paid licensure provided, FREE Travel & Housing. What nurse who isn’t tied down could refuse to come to Minnesota with pay like that? If the hospitals can afford this – why can’t they afford appropriate, safe staffing?
