Five St Paul firefighters are recovering from heat exhaustion while fighting a stubborn fire in a vacant building this morning.

Authorities say they were called to the former VFW hall at 327 North Fisk street this morning.

Firefighters searched the building for anyone who might be trapped and started trying to put out the fire, which turned out to be quite difficult because of the construction of the old building. And Fire Marshall Steve Zaccard says the temperatures outside was also a factor.
