For any weather geeks out there, we have set a new record for lowest pressure ever recorded in Minnesota.

The MN Climate Office says Hibbing dropped to 28.36″.

A lower reading may still happen, probably in northern MN. The Duluth NWS will probably put out an update later today, or it may be posted at the MN State Climate office usually in the upper right of that page.

As of noon, we had reached our second lowest pressure in Twin Cities history … impress your friends with that!

**3 P.M. Update: New record at Bigfork and other locations was 28.24″.

** Update: A final record low pressure is 28.20″, set at Bigfork, Minn. at 5:13 p.m. Tuesday.
