St. Paul Police Still Looking For Fatty The Chihuahua

By Adam Carter, NewsRadio 830 WCCO

ST. PAUL (WCCO) -- Three dognappers who pulled up and took two puppies from a group of children are still at large and they still have Fatty the Chihuahua.

The children were playing with the dogs on Case Avenue in St. Paul last Friday morning when an SUV pulled up. A younger man and woman got out and took the two puppies.

One of the dogs began yelping and the puppy was then thrown out the window of the SUV. The dog was not seriously hurt but the thieves kept the Chihuahua.

"The girl grabbed Fatty right out of one of the boy's arms and got in the truck," said Marleen Fynbu, the boys' mother. "And then the guy grabbed Babies and put her in the lady's lap in the passenger seat and she threw her out of the truck. They miss her and every time they see a green truck they say that's the color of the truck or that's what the truck looks like."

Babies is doing OK now, but she was shook up after the incident.

The family says they've never had anything like this happen before.

"We love her and we want her home" said Fynbu.

In addition to the younger man and woman, there was a woman in her 40s in the SUV. The vehicle was green, possibly a Suburban or Tahoe.

Fatty was not wearing a collar and doesn't have a micro chip on her. Right now, there are no suspects in custody. Anyone who might know something is asked to call police.
