Man Killed In Carver County Crash

A 55-year-old man was killed in a head-on crash in Carver County Wednesday night.

The Minnesota State Patrol said James Filek was driving a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country westbound on Highway 5 near Lone Cedar Lane when Filek crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer.

Filek, of Sherwood, Ark., was pronounced dead. A person in the Trailblazer, a 46-year-old Lester Prairie, Minn. man suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.

The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. The Patrol said roads were wet at the time of the crash.
