NCAA Hockey: Minnesota Beats Michigan 3-1

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Eight Minnesota players scored points as the Golden Gophers beat Michigan 3-1 on Sunday in the College Hockey Showcase.

Nate Condon, Nick Larson and Erik Haula scored goals for the Gophers (8-5-1), who were outshot 36-27. Minnesota goalie Alex Kangas stopped 35 of 36 shots, including 13 in the second period.

Condon staked the Gophers to an early lead with a goal at 14:50 of the first period. It was the only scoring until the closing minutes of the second period, when the teams scored three times in the last three minutes.

Larson scored at 17:10 of the second. Less than a minute later, Scooter Vaughan beat Kangas to slice the lead in half, but Haula made it a two-goal game at 19:44.

Bryan Hogan made 24 saves for the Wolverines (8-4-4).
