Man Dies Of Apparent Exposure To Cold In SW Minn.

KENNETH, Minn. (AP) -- Wintry weather appears to be a factor in the death of a southwestern Minnesota man.

Law officers were called Tuesday morning to a county road near Kenneth on a report that someone had driven into the ditch.

Emergency personnel found 64-year-old Arnold Halverson of Kenneth outside of his car. He was dead at the scene.

Authorities believe Halverson went into the ditch in poor weather, then tried to walk away and died of exposure.

KQAD Radio in Luverne reports authorities don't know when the accident happened. The case is closed.
