Standoff In South Minneapolis Ends Peacefully

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis Police say a standoff in south Minneapolis has ended peacefully, after a man threatening to commit suicide refused to come out of his home.

The standoff happened on the 4300 block of 43rd Avenue South Thursday morning.

Authorities, who had been told there could be someone else in the home as well, confirmed that there had been a woman also being held inside the home. Her condition was not reported.

The Minneapolis Police Department's SWAT Team and Negotiations Team also responded to the site.

The male surrendered and is being taken for a psychological evaluation.
