Plane Slips Off Taxiway After Landing At MSP

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Delta Air Lines jet slipped off the taxi-way after landing at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Friday night.

Airport authorities say the plane was heading to the gate at around 7:20 p.m. when its right main wheel went off the taxi-way.

Emergency crews responded to the plane, plowed around the wheel and salted and sanded around it until they could pull the wheel back on the pavement.

Once the wheel was back on pavement, the plane was taxied back to the terminal.

It was Delta #2487 from Atlanta, Ga. and had 189 people aboard.

There were no injuries.

Also, shortly after 9 p.m., a deicing truck clipped the wing of a Mesaba flight that was on a deicing pad awaiting departure to Knoxville, Tenn. Scovronski says that plane also made its way back to the gate and its 22 passengers deplaned.
