Harvin, Hutchinson Out For Vikings
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Adrian Peterson is in uniform for the Minnesota Vikings, but he is missing his favorite blocker.
Perennial Pro Bowl left guard Steve Hutchinson was been deactivated for the game against Buffalo on Sunday, ending a streak of 123 straight regular season starts.
Hutchinson broke his right thumb against the Redskins. He had started every game since the 2003 season opener with Seattle. He had started 131 in a row including the playoffs.
Receiver Percy Harvin was also inactive with migraines, the second time in his career he has missed a game with headaches. Harvin has dealth with the condition for most of his adult life, and his latest onset came during practice Wednesday. He visited doctors Friday and missed his first game since Dec. 13, 2009 against the Bengals.
Peterson sprained his right ankle against Washington and missed the first two days of practice this week. He practiced on a limited basis on Friday and had to test out his ankle before the game on Sunday to make sure he was good to go.
Rookie Chris DeGeare got the first start of his career for Hutchinson and Brian Robison started at defensive end for Ray Edwards, who was out with a high ankle sprain.
The Vikings also deactivated receivers Greg Lewis (concussion) and Hank Baskett, leaving them with only three healthy receivers -- Bernard Berrian, Sidney Rice and Greg Camarillo -- on the active roster.
As expected, the Bills deactivated starting right guard Eric Wood (ankle), cornerback Terrence McGee (nerve behind knee) and tight end Shawn Nelson (migraine).
