More Than 2,000 Towed In Mpls., St. Paul

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Between Minneapolis and St. Paul, more than 2,000 cars were towed during snow emergencies.

Sunday was the second day of a Minneapolis snow emergency which meant parking was restricted on the even sides of non-snow emergency routes from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., or until the side has been fully plowed.

On day one of Minneapolis' snow emergency, 525 cars were towed from 9 p.m. until Sunday morning and an additional 629 cars were towed on Sunday -- for a grand total of 1154 vehicles.

Minneapolis residents must move vehicles from the odd side of non-snow emergency routes to the event side between 8 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday.

If the city declares a third day of a Minneapolis snow emergency, parking will be restricted on the odd sides of non-snow emergency routes from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., or until the side has been fully plowed.

After 8 p.m. on Monday, Minneapolis residents may park vehicles on both sides of all streets until the next snow emergency is declared, unless posted otherwise.
