Dozens Of Animals Killed In Petting Ranch Fire

KNAPP, Wis. (AP) -- Dozens of animals have died in a fire at a western Wisconsin petting ranch and rescue operation.

The owners of the Honey Do Petting Ranch and Animal Rescue in Dunn County say they woke up early Sunday to see their barns on fire. More than 80 ponies, pot-bellied pigs, goats, sheep and cats are among the animals killed in the fire.

Donita Paul says she devastated because she loved all her animals. She says most of the animals at the ranch were "rescued" from various situations.

Paul tells WEAU-TV that most of the llamas and larger horses made it out of the barns and are in the care of neighbors.
