We were planning our family Xmas party on Saturday. We picked this date 3 months ago!! All the family was supposed to come from Willmar, but of course no one made it. We had already bought all the food and drinks, so we had a neighborhood Xmas get-together instead. We all had a great time, even though we couldn’t get together with our family. At least everyone stayed home where it was safe!

Because we had so much advance warning we made a big batch of chili and a turkey purchased and frozen at Thanksgiving. The Christmas tree was put up and the house decorated while we kept the fireplace going. For fun we watched “The Shining”…reminding us it could have been worse! Love these Minnesota winters we fondly looked forward to from our childhood.

Two other friends and I were snowed in together and we decided to shoot a Zombie Food Safety Video. We first hiked through thigh deep snow to purchase faked blood ingredients and other props then came back in and shot the several scenes of the video showing tips on how a Zombie should clean, separate, cook, then chill its food. After shooting, we went out for some midnight sledding then had hot cocoa and fresh baked cookies.

Post production is in progress, video to be released online soon.
