St. Cloud St. Beats Miami (Ohio) 4-3

ESTERO, Fla. (AP) -- Nic Dowd's power-play goal 13 seconds into the third period was the game-winner Thursday as St. Cloud State beat Miami of Ohio 4-3 in the championship of Florida College Classic men's college hockey tournament.

The Huskies (7-11-2) won despite taking just 11 shots on goal. They jumped out to a 4-1 lead and withstood a late run by the RedHawks (11-6-3). Goals by Pat Cannone and Reilly Smith made it a one-goal game.

Huskies goalie Mike Lee made it stand up, making 13 of his 28 saves in the third period.

Dowd assisted on two goals and Drew LeBlanc had a goal and assist for St. Cloud State.

Smith and Cannone had a goal and assist each.

Connor Knapp made seven saves for the RedHawks, who outshot the Huskies 31-11.
