TwinsFest Tickets Sell Out

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO/AP) -- The Twins were forced, for the first time in 23 years, to limit the number of tickets they sold for this year's TwinsFest after the Metrodome's roof collapse necessitated the search for a new venue.

Now the event is sold out.

The Twins announced they have sold all 25,000 tickets they had for the event, which will be held this year at the National Sports Center in Blaine.

Twins president Dave St. Peter said the decision to cap ticket sales was made "to ensure the best possible experience for those who will be attending."

Among the things fans with tickets can expect from this year's TwinsFest are autographs and picture opportunities with current and former players, batting cages and speed pitch, auctions and memorabilia, and auditions to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner.

The Twins say more than 60 current, former and future team players are expected to appear during the course of the weekend.

TwinsFest 2011 is scheduled for Jan. 28-30. There will be no tickets available at the doors on any day of the event.

TwinsFest is an annual fundraiser for the Minnesota Twins Community Fund.
