Gophers Beat U.S. U-18 Team, 9-0

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Nick Bjugstad had a goal and three assists as Minnesota beat the US Hockey Under-18 Team 9-0 in a Friday exhibition game.

Mike Hoeffel added a goal and two assists and Jacob Cepis had two goal for the Gophers, who outshot the U.S. team 37-19.

The Gophers led 7-0 after two periods

Jay Barriball chipped in a goal and an assist for Minnesota.

Gophers goalie Kent Patterson had 15 stops and Jake Kremer had four.

Team USA goalie John Gibson made eight saves and Matt McNeely added 20.
