WYOMING, Minn. (WCCO) — Wyoming Police are searching for a man wanted in an armed robbery Sunday evening where a shot was fired at a gas station employee.

Authorities say the man was wearing a bandana over his head and a ski mask when he robbed the Holiday Station around 6:26 p.m. Sunday near Wyoming.

The man was carrying a black .40 pistol, which he fired once inside the store while demanding the clerk give him all the money in the gas station.

He is described as approximately 5-foot-10, with a medium complexion, wearing a black leather jacket, light colored pants, hiking boots, a blue and white bandana and brown gloves with red wrist bands.

He was given an undisclosed amount of money and six to seven cartons of Marlboro Smoothes cigarettes stamped with “Holiday 294” in red ink on the box.

The man fled the area on foot. Police say he is considered to be armed and possibly dangerous, given his brazen act of violence having fired a gun at the store clerk.

The department said they have located several witnesses, but are still investigating.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery should contact the Wyoming Police Department at 651-462-0577 or submit information on the website through the online anonymous tip link at www.wyomingmn.org.

  2. antileaveAmsg says:

I know of 2 gas stations in Wyoming a shell on 35 and whatever it is on 61.. there is no holidays in wyoming that im aware of

    1. K. Nielsen says:

You are correct when considering only the original City of Wyoming; however, since the annexation of a portion of the former Wyoming Township, things have changed.

    2. tonya says:

antileaveAmsg- Learn to read, near Wyoming. Not in Wyoming.

  3. ArtimasJGordon says:

I live in Wyoming and I have yet to see a Holiday there. Closest would be Forest Lake. Not sure what map they are using to report this.

    1. ed says:

That Holiday on Hwy 8 NEAR Forest Lake is really in Wyoming, MN

  4. Kevin says:

There is a Holiday station there….just off the highway….this is so sad…Wyoming is such a nice area….now its just another part of the crime in the cities…..

  5. Karen Urman says:

    its on HWY 8…

  6. Amanda says:

It was the Holiday station on hwy 8 between Forest Lake and Chisago City. (Right across the hwy is a Super America.) We were driving on Hwy 8 last night and saw the police cars and yellow crime scene tape, so I had to Google the info to find out about it.

  7. MH says:

This is the Holiday on Hwy 8 and Greenway. I live close by and saw the police cars there last night. It’s actually Forest Lake.

    1. LMC says:

It’s actually considered Wyoming on hwy 8 where the Holiday is after the annexation occured in the area.

  8. Pennie says:

Come on Wyoming residents! Keep in mind there is more to Wyoming than the town itself. This happened at the one on HWY 8. I live in the Wyoming area and this sorta creeps me out. I moved from St.Paul 20 years ago to get away from this junk. The good thing is the clerk wasn’t hurt and the likelihood of this loser still being in the area is slim to none.

  9. Brent says:

Wyoming is a wonderful area, all the mountains and big sky are nice. Sometimes people just need a little extra money to cover their water or garbage bill. We could set up a collection to help this poor man out.

  10. Confused says:

Holiday Station Stores’ website lists three gas stations in Forest Lake. It lists none in Wyoming. The one on Hwy 8 has a Forest Lake zip code, not Wyoming. How is this Wyoming and not Forest Lake?

  11. Brent says:

Wyoming is in Forest Lake, It is a sub-sectional township of the overall county.

  12. GanstaDogDoo says:

Dumb hicks don’t even know their own community boarders, Bet they would be easy pickins for a clever gangsta to fleece them all but good.

If people showed up at a city meeting now and a again they may know that it’s now Wyoming.
I guess all the yard signs to “Vote No” didn’t get peoples attentions.

  13. Confused says:

I don’t live in Forest Lake or Wyoming so I wouldn’t know “the community borders”. I drive through quite often and was just stating what the Holiday Stores have listed on their website. Sooooo sorry that those of us who pass by and who want to contribute to the discussion aren’t nearly as smart as the pricks on this comment forum!
