Attempted Child Abduction Of Student In Arlington

ARLINGTON (WCCO) -- A fifth-grade student in Arlington was a victim of attempted child abduction Tuesday afternoon, according to the Arlington Police Department.

Police say the Sibley East student was walking home along the 100 block of East Adams when a light blue, four-door Saturn stopped nearby. A man inside ordered him inside his car, but the boy refused and ran toward a house as the Saturn drove off.

The driver is described as a white male, mid- to late-20s, dark medium length hair and was wearing a dark mask over his face. A second witness description, which may possibly be the same man, said that the man had a dark-colored mustache, beard and was wearing dark glasses.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Arlington Police Department at 507-964-5200 or the Sibley County Sheriff's Department at 888-880-4567.
