Fund Started For Family Of Minn. Basketball Player

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- A fund has been set up to help the family of a Minnesota high school basketball player who collapsed during a game last week.

Seventeen-year-old Zach Gabbard of Perham collapsed Thursday evening during a game at Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton High School. Gabbard is in critical but stable condition at University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview. He was transported to the hospital on Sunday.

Gabbart's family is thanking nurses and doctors who resuscitated him at the game and his friends for their support.

A fund has been set up to defray the family's costs not covered by insurance. Checks can be made out to "The Zach Gabbard Fund" and mailed to United Community Bank, 155 2nd St. S.W., Perham, MN 56573.
