St. Paul District Saves School From Closing

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Just as St. Paul Public Schools get ready to meet with upset parents about changes, the district has saved a school from closing.

Superintendent Valeria Silva said Four Seasons Elementary School will remain open, but will no longer be a year-round magnet school.

It was one of the programs that faced being shut down under the "Strong Schools, Strong Communities" strategic plan.

Other plans call for an end to busing for many students.

The school board is holding its first of six community information sessions Thursday at 7 p.m. at Ames/Sheridan School.
