Vikings DE Griffen Out Of Jail, Team Investigating

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minnesota defensive end Everson Griffen is out of jail, and the Vikings are monitoring his situation.

Griffen was arrested Monday in Los Angeles for allegedly assaulting an officer after a traffic stop. Police said officers used a Taser to subdue him during the struggle after he tried to run from them.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's jail Web site, Griffen was released early Tuesday on $50,000 bail. His court date is set for Feb. 25.

Vikings spokesman Jeff Anderson said Tuesday the organization is gathering facts on the incident.

Griffen played for USC and was a fourth-round draft pick by the Vikings last year. He saw more playing time toward the end of his rookie season and finished with 11 tackles.
