Faulty Hydrant Slows Fire Crews In North Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A faulty fire hydrant caused problems for fire crews working on a house fire in Minneapolis overnight.

The crews responded to a fire at the intersection of Queen Avenue North and 21st Avenue North.

The nearest hydrant to the corner house was not working, so crews were forced to string hoses together to reach the next nearest hydrant.

Crews first attacked the flames from the outside before the front part of the home collapsed.

Crews said the house was vacant.

Officials aren't sure if the hydrant was frozen.
