Man Found Dead In St. Paul House Fire

ST. PAUL (WCCO) -- A man was found dead amid a house fire that broke out in St. Paul late Monday evening.

The fire happened on Charles Avenue. Crews were called out at about 10:30 p.m. after neighbors spotted flames coming from out of the kitchen window of the duplex.

Fire crews arrived and knocked down the flames. Damage was contained mostly to kitchen, with some smoke damage elsewhere in the home.

Inside, they found a man dead inside the kitchen. Investigators will now try and determine whether the man died before the fire broke out, or whether the smoke and flames were responsible for his death.

No one else lives in the home.

Crews said they do not believe the fire started suspiciously.
