Metro Transit Bus Crashes In South Minneapolis, 4 Injured

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Four people were taken to the hospital after a Metro Transit bus crashed in south Minneapolis late Thursday afternoon, according to a Transit official.

Metro Transit spokesman John Sigveland says a bus, traveling near the 3200 block of Chicago Avenue South, lost control, hit a parked car and then a tree.

Three passengers on the bus complained of injuries, including the driver. All four were taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center, but were all conscious and breathing.

Metro Transit will do a drug and alcohol testing on the driver, which is routine with any accident.

The bus will be towed and the Metro Transit police are investigating what led to the accident.
