EXCELSIOR (WCCO) — A 56-year-old man was taken to the hospital after two snowmobiles collided on Lake Minnetonka Thursday afternoon, according to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office.
A group of three friends were riding snowmobiles when on sled struck another, authorities said.
A 46-year-old California man was thrown from his snowmobile, but was not injured. The 56-year-old Tonka Bay man was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center. A third man, also 46 years old and from California, was not taken to the hospital.
The collision took place about a half mile from the shore near Tonka Bay in Excelsior.
