Henning Man Pleads Guilty To DWI In Highway Death

HENNING, Minn. (AP) -- A Henning man will spend some time in jail after pleading guilty to gross misdemeanor driving while intoxicated in an incident in which a man died after being found lying on a highway.

KBRF-AM reports 48-year-old James D. Seaver has pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 365 days in jail, with all but 30 days of it stayed for six years.

The criminal complaint says that on the night of July 18, 2010, the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office received a report of a man lying on Highway 210 in rural Henning.

The man, 31-year-old Dajun Honer, had been riding in the car with Seaver. Witnesses say Honer opened the door and fell out, hitting shoulder first.

Seaver allegedly drove away without checking on Honer, who later died at local hospital.
