Toscano Sends Duluth East To Title Game

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Alex Toscano scored in 3:54 into overtime and Duluth East beat Edina 2-1 in overtime Friday in the Class 2A boys state hockey semifinals.

With his linemates making a line change, Toscano carried the puck into the Edina end. From the right circle he used Hayden Anderson as a screen and beat Conner Girard with a wrist shot on the stick side.

Jake Randolph also scored for Duluth East (24-5-0), who will face either Eagan or Eden Prairie in Saturday night's final.

Steven Fogarty also scored for Edina (19-8-2), which was looking to defend their state title.
