Wolves' Beasley Misses Practice With Stiff Neck

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minnesota Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley sat out practice on Saturday because of a stiff neck.

Beasley expects to be ready when the Wolves start a three-game road trip on Sunday at Golden State. He scored 23 points in a victory over Utah on Friday night, the struggling Wolves' third victory in six games. Minnesota has won back-to-back games by at least 20 points for the first time since 2001.

He says the ankle problems that have bothered him for most of the second half of the season finally appear to be subsiding. Beasley sprained both ankles several times in late December and January and the recurring injuries stunted his production.

He is averaging 19.2 points this season.
