Boy, 2, Found Unconscious In Hot Tub Dies

EDINA, Minn. (WCCO) -- A toddler who was found unconscious in a hot tub over the weekend died Monday night, according to investigators.

The boy, who police identified as 2-year-old Chase Peterson, and his family from Minneapolis were visiting people at an Edina condominium complex on the 7000 block of Lewis Ridge Parkway on Saturday.

Police said the boy's family found him in the hot tub at around 2:30 p.m. and performed CPR on him.

Edina Police, Edina Fire Department and the Sheriff's Office responded to the scene. Peterson was taken to Fairview Southdale Hospital and then transferred to the University of Minnesota Medical Center Fairview.

Authorities said Peterson died Monday evening.
