Weather Blog: Melt Continues

By Ron Trenda, WCCO-TV

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Our average high temperature in the Twin Cities is now 42 degrees, but we'll be warmer than that both days this weekend.

Saturday morning fog is burning off and our afternoon will feature sunshine and patchy clouds. Parts of northwestern and northcentral Minnesota could see a rain/snow mix Saturday afternoon.

Clouds return Saturday night, with a chance of showers after midnight. You can expect showers at times on Sunday, with an isolated thunderstorm possible late in the day.

Looking ahead, periods of rain are likely on Tuesday, and it could change to wet snow on Wednesday as cooler air arrives.

The nice thing is that any snow that falls this time of year usually melts quickly.
