St. Paul Foster Father Pleads Guilty In Toddler's Death
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- A St. Paul foster father has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of a 19-month-old girl in his care.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports 51-year-old Daniel Lee Wright agreed Friday, under the terms of what's called an Alford plea, that the government probably had the evidence it needed for a jury to convict him.
Wright admitted that he was giving Brianna Rose Jackson and an older child a bath together on of July 1, 2009, when the older child jumped out the tub and ran into another room.
Wright went to check on the older child. A few minutes later Wright's stepson found Brianna limp in the tub. Wright's wife performed CPR until paramedics arrived. The girl died the next day in a hospital.
