Police Called To St. Paul Charter School For Fight
ST. PAUL (WCCO) -- Police officers were called to a St. Paul school Thursday, after a 13-year-old boy was cut by another teen with a small pocketknife.
Police were called to the scene around 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning at the charter school St. Paul City School, which is located at 643 Virginia St.
Police say the 13-year-old was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after getting in a fight with a 14-year-old boy in the bathroom. The 14-year-old allegedly cut the other teen with a small pocketknife, causing a small abrasion to his chin and a couple of scratches on his neck.
Officers arrested the 14-year-old boy and brought him to police headquarters.
The school's director, Nancy Dana, said they have 370 students enrolled from pre-K to eighth grade. She said they have a zero-tolerance policy for weapons, but would not comment on the incident.
