"We are excited to partner with the University of St. Thomas, its COO Mark Dienhart, Athletic Director Steve Fritz and Coach Glenn Caruso. WCCO's tradition of Saturday afternoon football broadcasts will continue with St. Thomas's rich history of athletic success and their traditional rivalries in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference," said CBS RADIO Minneapolis Senior Vice President/Market Manager, Mick Anselmo.

WCCO-AM has long hosted a Saturday afternoon college football scoreboard show that focused on regional football and for the first time ever, in December 2010, carried a Division III Playoff game involving St. Thomas. This year's scoreboard show will continue to focus on the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC), and feature regional football coverage.

The MIAC is the football home of St. Thomas, Bethel, Saint John's, St. Olaf, Concordia, Gustavus, Augsburg, Carleton and Hamline, each with a strong alumni base in the Twin Cities. The Tommies are the reigning MIAC regular season football champions and Caruso was named the Liberty Mutual national coach-of-the-year.

WCCO-AM will air its first St. Thomas football broadcast on Saturday, Sept. 3. That will be a non-conference game against St. Norbert College of DePere,Wis.

WCCO-AM is owned and operated by CBS RADIO, one of the largest major-market radio operators in the United States. A division of CBS Corporation, CBS RADIO operates 130 radio stations, the majority of which are in the nation's top 50 markets. CBS RADIO also owns and operates WLTE and KZJK in Minneapolis, Minn.
