Trees with very large arching branches are especially tricky as any one of them will hit the ground first and send the base bucking backwards at tremendous speed! You can’t out run it if you just stand there.Have a professional do it.He will usually have a pretty good idea of where to run and just standing there is not an option.I had a pro take down a tree by my garage,it had two such huge arms on the side it would have to be felled.I warned him about it.He was a little skeptical but did move quickly out of the way.The tree flew back at least ten feet further than even I thought it would.Another inch or two and it would have plowed thru the back of my garage. It really could have been a killer tree.

Dave was the best lumberjack I’ve ever seen. He had been cuttin for yrs. He was a true pro. Not certain what kept him from movin . Must have happened incredibly fast . Dave was in great shape and could move when he wanted to. It must have given 0 warning . All who knew him have lost an incredible friend and will feel a giant hole in their lives for a long, long time !

Too many people think they are “AX MEN”, and this is a tragic accident to someone who probably knew alot about cutting down trees, but when a tree “barberchairs” on you, it usually is caused by and inproper back cut, but having been in the forestry industry for over 20 years, it can happen to anyone…..this is really sad…..

This is really sad !! this man David was a great man.. he has been doing this kind of work for a long time. He was my neighbor , he has two beautiful children . David and his kids were always outside bike riding , 4-wheeling , playing catch , and jumping on there trampoline. They would come over all the time in the summers to ask if we all or just the kids wanted to go to the beach or fishing .
Just all together this news was very shocking for my hole family and everyone here in this small town.
So my thoughts and prayers go out Davids family and friends he will be missed..
    David may you R.I.P
