Minn. Bank Robber To Repay Bank, County
LE CENTER, Minn. (AP) -- A 70-year-old woman who pleaded guilty to robbing a south-central Minnesota bank has been ordered to pay $1,500 in restitution.
The owners of Elysian State Bank claimed they were owed $7,800 as a result of Sandra Bathke's robbery last December. But Bathke's attorney and an assistant Le Sueur County attorney agreed on $1,500 in restitution. About $215 will be paid to Le Sueur County to cover towing and other costs. The remaining $1,285 will be paid to the bank.
Bathke was driven to the bank Dec. 15 by an unsuspecting getaway driver -- the son of Bathke's landlord. Bathke pleaded guilty to second-degree bank robbery in January and was placed on 15 years probation.
The Free Press reports a deadline for payment was not set during Tuesday's hearing.
