Perham's Gabbard Released From Hospital

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Perham High School basketball player got some welcomed news on Friday.

Zach Gabbard, who collapsed on the basketball court during a game in January and went into cardiac arrest, was released from the hospital after five months of recovery. His family made the statement on his CaringBridge web site on Friday.

His heart failed during a game and several people in the gym helped bring him back to life.

Gabbard's family said he will spend the summer doing therapy and taking online classes.
